When enjoying your fireplace, stove, or insert, it’s important to remember these basic safety precautions:

Keep it Clear
Fireplaces, stoves, and inserts become hot during operation whether they burn gas, pellets, or wood. Keep clothing, furniture, draperies, and other flammable materials a safe distance away.

Secure Safety Barrier
Factory-provided safety screens, aftermarket freestanding screens, and barriers help reduce the risk of serious burns, as they prevent skin from coming into direct contact with hot glass. Ensure a barrier is securely in place before turning on your fireplace.

Use Caution
Fireplaces, stoves, and inserts, and their surrounding material, will remain hot for a period of time even after being turned off. Use caution at all times.

How to Protect Your Family

Remember - Fireplaces Become Hot!

Fireplaces provide comfort, warmth, and ambiance – but it’s important to remember that while beautiful, it’s still fire, and should be treated with caution. As part of normal operation, the glass front and surrounding materials will become hot. Keep children and pets at a safe distance at all times.

Use Protective Safety Screens

A protective safety screen will help prevent skin from coming into contact with the hot glass, greatly reducing the risk of serious burns. The screen should not be removed or altered in any way.
