Finding the model of your fireplace, stove or insert
Each fireplace, stove and insert has a rating plate which contains your model number and serial number. Gas and wood burning fireplaces have a rating plate in the control compartment area, under the smoke shield or on the firebox side column. Gas and wood burning inserts have a rating plate in the control compartment area, under the ash lip or on the firebox side. Gas and wood burning stoves have a rating plate attached to the back of the stove, inside the pedestal base, or inside the lower access cover. The rating plate for an electric fireplace is located on the firebox ceiling. In a pellet stove or insert the rating plate is either inside or outside the hopper, or on the sides behind the side curtain or access panel.
